Sponsorship

In order to encourage the development of excellence in human resource management , HR in Law offers sponsorship to individuals in member firms who do not offer sponsorship.

Training opportunities which will normally be considered should be at Certificate, Diploma, Post Graduate or Masters level and should be fully accredited and recognised by the CIPD.

A maximum of £2,500 per year is available for sponsorship by HR in Law and final decisions on the recipients will be at the discretion of the Committee.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for sponsorship you must satisfy the following:
  • You must be employed by a member firm for the duration of the course. Moving to another member firm may not affect your continued eligibility for sponsorship. However, if you cease to work within the legal sector, you may be required to repay the grant
  • You must give an explanation as to why your firm is not sponsoring the course
  • The course must lead to a recognised higher HR qualification.
  • You must finish the course and pass the final examinations otherwise you may be required to repay all or part of the grant
  • The course must be at a centre which is recognised as having a good reputation for studies in HRM
  • Full details of the course must be supplied with your application
  • You should be prepared to work on an assignment of value to the members of HR in Law and your final dissertation may be published and circulated to the members

Normally, the grant will be paid directly to the College concerned, depending on the timing of the course. We will write to the College to notify the arrangements for payment.

During the course, the Committee members will be available for support and practical help.
